There are two on-campus interview sessions for U.S. applicants. 

We offer virtual interviews for international applicants and you will be contacted if your application is chosen for an interview. 

Yes, there is an application fee for both U.S. ($60) and international students ($100). 

If you are selected for an interview and complete the on-campus or virtual interview process, your application fee will be reimbursed.
 

U. S. applicants may be eligible for a Graduate Application Fee Waiver through the Graduate Admissions Office based upon program participation or financial hardship. Please note that waivers may have early deadlines. 

Unfortunately, we do not provide an application fee waiver for international students. Our program will reimburse your application fee if your application is selected for an interview and you complete the virtual interview process.

Yes, a Master's degree is not a prerequisite for applying to our program.

No, a specific Bachelor's degree in Microbiology is not required for application. However, applicants with a strong scientific background and research experience are preferred.

If you're an international applicant, we look for strong TOEFL scores of 100 or greater, or an IELTS overall score of 8.0 or higher.

Students will rotate through three labs during their 1st year.

A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00/4.00, or the foreign equivalent as determined by the Graduate College Office of Admissions.

Most students enter in the fall, but rare exceptions may be considered for other times based on specific circumstances.
