The Department of Microbiology and Immunology congratulates Dr. Amanda Dudek on being recognized as the 2026 Andy Kaplan Retrovirology Prize recipient. 

The Andy Kaplan Retrovirology Prize is given out annually, with the purpose of advancing the career and honoring the accomplishments of a distinguished postdoctoral scientist as they embark on an independent career in retrovirology.

This award honors the legacy of Andy Kaplan who was an associate professor in Medicine and in Microbiology and Immunology at UNC Chapel Hill.
