Microbiology graduate students Mikaela Daum  and Kyle Rapchak were honored with the Pulvermacher Graduate Student Teaching Award at the Pulvermacher Graduate Student Seminar on April 7, presented by Professor Craig Ellermeier, Director of Graduate Studies. Organized by microbiology graduate students, the annual seminar recognizes outstanding teaching and mentorship by graduate instructors.

The award honors the legacy of Dr. Sarah Pulvermacher, who earned her PhD in Microbiology from the University of Iowa in 2008 and was known for her deep commitment to education. Established in her memory, the award celebrates graduate students who exemplify excellence in teaching.
