Dr. Aloysius Klingelhutz, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology, is the recipient of the John P. Long Teaching Award, which honors the enduring legacy of Dr. Long and his exceptional dedication to education, research, and service to the University. Established as an annual distinction, the Carver College of Medicine award recognizes a basic science faculty member who exemplifies excellence in teaching, scholarly achievement, and institutional service.
Dr. Klingelhutz is recognized for his longstanding commitment to education, impactful research, and meaningful contributions to the University community, reflecting the values that defined Dr. Long's career.
Dr. Klingelhutz will be formally recognized at the 2026 UI Health Care Faculty and Staff Awards Celebration on Wednesday, May 27 at the Hancher Auditorium in Iowa City, IA.
