This summer, the Department of Microbiology and Immunology is welcoming a cohort of undergraduate students into its research labs, where they are gaining hands-on scientific experience. In addition to their laboratory work, many participants are engaging in a dynamic series of weekly professional development activities designed to enhance their academic and career readiness.

Organized by Drs. Gina McGrane, David Weiss, and Thomas Kehl-Fie, the program features a diverse lineup of opportunities, including faculty-led talks, science communication workshops, research presentations by industry professionals, panel discussions, and graduate school application sessions. Together, these experiences provide students with valuable insights into the scientific field while helping them build essential skills for future success.
