Graduate students Rosa Sava and Stephanie Clark were each awarded the prestigious Pulvermacher Graduate Student Teaching Award following the Pulvermacher Graduate Student Seminar on April 1st. Director of Graduate Studies, Prof. Craig Ellermeier, presented the award. This annual seminar, organized by microbiology graduate students, serves as a platform to honor exceptional teaching contributions.

The Pulvermacher Graduate Student Teaching Award was established to honor the legacy of Dr. Sarah Pulvermacher, who completed her Ph.D. in Microbiology at the University of Iowa in 2008. Dr. Pulvermacher was known for her dedication to both her research and teaching. Her impact on the academic community inspired the creation of this award, which recognizes outstanding teaching contributions by graduate students. Each year, the Graduate Students in the Department of Microbiology host a seminar in her memory, celebrating her commitment to education and mentorship.
