Research Focus: 

During my undergraduate studies, my research focused on characterizing different capsule polysaccharide types in Serratia marcescens and investigating how these capsule types contribute to the organism’s ability to colonize the host and evade immune defenses. I am broadly interested in studying the factors used by bacterial pathogens to cause disease and survive in the host environment.
