Biography
Mentor: Craig Ellermeier, PhD
Research Focus:
Clostridioides difficile is an important anaerobic pathogen that causes antibiotic-associated intestinal infections. My research focuses on understanding how C. difficile regulates cell envelope biogenesis and adapts to environmental stress. I am interested in two-component regulatory systems that are connected to lipoteichoic acid (LTA) biosynthesis. Using bacterial genetics, growth assays, molecular biology, and anaerobic microbiology approaches, I aim to identify key mechanisms that support C. difficile cell envelope homeostasis.
